THE pubs are open and people are desperate to get their reservations sorted so they can have a drink this weekend.
Reserving tables in pubs has proven to be a problem for many hopeful punters due to the high level of demand. Most pubs are full and have only a limited number of spaces available for walk-in patrons.
For those who go on weekends without a guaranteed place to have a drink with friends, Wetherspoons could offer the solution.
Wetherspoons will not use a reservation system and will operate entirely without an appointment. A statement on their website said: “All ads will operate on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Table reservations are not possible. ”
None of the Wetherspoons sites will take reservations, which will allow those who can still socialize with friends.
As many other pubs are booked, the lines should be long, so patrons will have to be early if they want to secure a table.
