New coronavirus cases confirmed in Somerset and where they are located Bath City News

There have been 14 cases of the coronavirus have been reported in Somerset in the past 24 hours.

There has been no increase in the number of infections recorded in North Somerset, according to new government figures announced on Wednesday evening (April 14).

The biggest increase in the last 24-hour reporting period was in Bath and North East Somerset, where five other people have tested positive for Covid.

There were three positive test results in both Mendip and South Somerset, while Sedgemoor and Somerset West and Taunton recorded two and one new cases respectively.

No further deaths have been recorded in Somerset among people who have tested positive for the coronavirus in the past 28 days.

Breakdown of positive test results

The number of positive test results in each area since the start of the pandemic is shown below, with the new positive test results in parentheses.

Bath and North East Somerset: 8191 (+5)

Mendip: 3,432 (+3)

North Somerset: 10.001 (=)

Sedgemoor: 5,320 (+2)

Somerset West and Taunton: 5,934 (+1)

Somerset South: 5,418 (+3)

The government said 30 more people died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, bringing the UK total to 127,191.

Separate figures released by UK statistical agencies show that there are now 150,419 registered deaths in the UK, where Covid was mentioned on the death certificate.

As of 9 a.m. as of Wednesday, there had been 2,672 more laboratory-confirmed cases in the UK.

This brings the total to 4,380,976.
