Coaching bosses warn 27,000 jobs at risk this winter Business

CPT policy chief Alison Edwards said: “Allowing the coach travel industry to collapse would be a dereliction of government duty. The sector is essential to the continued growth of tourism in the UK by ensuring that millions of people can visit attractions across the UK every year.

“Without support for coach travel, we not only risk the future of the sector, but also jobs in the tourism industry, as people find it difficult to travel for outings.

Kurt Janson, Director of the Tourism Alliance, added: “Coach operators are an important and vital component of the world-class tourism industry in the UK.

Whether it’s taking foreign visitors on tour, students on educational trips, transferring conference delegates, bringing sports fans to games or offering day trips for whether people visit attractions or see a West End show, they bring income and jobs to every destination they visit. ”
