Woman who found injured man thanks dog walker for his help in Langdale Gardens, Hove Brighton News

A WOMAN thanked a dog walker who helped her when she found an injured man this morning, whose death was later confirmed.

Writing in a public community Facebook group, Ann Manuela Ellis said her daughter-in-law found the man around 6 a.m. this morning and was supported by a passer-by to call emergency services because she had to get to work.

She said: “My daughter-in-law found a man around 6 am this morning in the garden of the apartment building on the corner of Kingsway and Langdale Gardens.

“He may have fallen from a balcony.

“She tried to ask a lot of the passing joggers for help and no one wanted to stop or help her.

“Eventually a man with two dogs came to his aid and called an ambulance.

“She would like to say thank you for her help and for taking up her post because she had to go to work.

“She said people who walked past her asking for help should be ashamed of themselves.”

The area was cordoned off this morning and Sussex Police confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesperson said: ‘Emergency services were called at around 6:34 am after a man was found seriously injured in the head at the junction of Kingsway and Langdale Gardens in Hove.

“He was unfortunately declared dead at the scene.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner’s officer has been notified.

“We have no further information at this time.”
