The open fire on Pitsmoor Road, Pitsmoor, involved a large amount of waste.
It generated huge flames and plumes of black smoke.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident just before 10 p.m.
On Saturday night, Sheffield crews tackled a massive moorland fire in Ringinglow, on the outskirts of the city.
