South Yorkshire Police said emergency services were called to Batemoor Road in Jordanthorpe at 7.40 p.m.
Despite attempts at CPR, the man was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson said: “His death is not considered suspicious and a file has been prepared for the coroner.”
No further details were provided by the force.
There are believed to be at least five police cars and an air ambulance at the scene.
