Formula E confirms 2021 calendar; London races included Car News

Formula E has unveiled the full schedule for this year’s World Championship and confirmed that it will again feature two races in London.

There will be 15 races in the series this year – four more than last year. Races in Morocco, Chile, China, South Korea and Indonesia have been canceled due to the pandemic, but are expected to be held next season once restrictions are lifted.

However, other countries have remained in the rotation of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, including the United States and Germany which, like last year, will host the season finale.

The UK is also on the calendar, as Formula E has confirmed that the Excel exhibition center in London will host the penultimate two races on July 24 and 25.

The 2021 season kicked off in February with a double header in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, followed by Italy from the Rome E-Prix on April 10 and 11. The fifth and sixth races of the season will take place this weekend in Valencia, Spain – a new venue for the series.

After a trip to Monaco on May 8, Formula E will visit another new location for the Puebla E-Prix on June 19 and 20. The Mexican race has been moved from the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez to Mexico City (which previously hosted five Formula E races), as the circuit is still in use as a temporary field hospital.

Formula E drivers then return to Red Hook Racecourse in Brooklyn, New York, for rounds 9 and 10, then to the indoor and outdoor track in London. The season ends with a double match in Berlin on August 14-15.
