The British are known for our love of a good old-fashioned cup of tea, so what better way to enjoy today than by stopping by your local cafe for a brew.

To celebrate National Tea Day, we’ve taken a look at some of Brighton’s top rated cafes and tea rooms that you can enjoy.

Afternoon tea is served in the decadent Victoria Terrace and Lounge and is available for delivery.

Afternoon tea includes: freshly made sandwiches, pastries, scones and cakes, plus bespoke ‘surprise treats’ for the Grand’s famous tea. Served with a selection of over 30 teas to try.

The Coffeetzar

This artisanal cafe with a Mediterranean vibe is the perfect place to meet up with friends after months apart for a delicious cup of tea, a delicious cake or a light meal.

Famous locally, one rave reviewer said, “Excellent coffee. Great cakes. Solid selection of plant-based milks and there are great gluten-free and vegan cake options.”

Another reviewer said: “Always a warm welcome, great coffee indeed, they even had optional honey on the side. A delicious toasted sandwich was an added bonus.”

The Laughing Dog

Outside there are a limited number of tables which are the perfect place to bask in the midday sun while reading a book or strolling.

They serve a range of freshly baked goods including cakes and pastries, as well as toast and salad bowls to name a few.

Joe’s Coffee

With over 300 reviews on Google, Joe’s Cafe is one of the city’s most beloved, with people raving about its friendly atmosphere and delicious food.

They also have an outdoor seating area, so whether you want a take-out cup of tea or a delicious breakfast, there is something for everyone.

One review said: “Good value for money and lovely staff! The food is good and there are lots of vegan and vegetarian options.”

Coffee Sixteen

Cafe Sixteen’s sunny patio is a cool and quirky place to enjoy the best coffee and tea in town.

They are also Bradford’s only rooftop bar, seating around 25 people at a time.
