Joe Biden to visit UK in June as part of his first overseas trip | US News

US President Joe Biden will visit the UK and Belgium in June on his first trip abroad, the White House has announced.

The trip aims to “underscore its commitment to restore our alliances, revitalize transatlantic relations and work closely with our allies,” White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said.

During his visit, Mr Biden will attend the G7 summit in Cornwall, June 11-13. There, he will hold bilateral meetings with Boris Johnson and other G7 leaders.

The US leader will then travel to Brussels for a NATO summit on June 14.

The White House announcement came as Mr. Biden concluded hosting a global climate summit that signaled a renewed US commitment to environmental efforts.
