Former footballer and TV personality Ashley Cain shared a tribute to his eight-month-old daughter.

Ex On The Beach star’s daughter Azaylia Diamond Cain died on Saturday after battling an aggressive form of leukemia.

Posting a tribute on Instagram, Cain said his heart was “broken” but vowed to make sure his name “lived”.

Azaylia, born in August last year, was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of eight weeks and a fundraiser to try to save her life has reached over £ 1.5million.

She had recently suffered a seizure and her hospice team told the family to “make the most of this weekend” as her body “died out.”

Sharing a photo of himself holding his daughter’s hand, Cain wrote, “My heart is broken.

“You gave my life a purpose, my face a smile, filled my heart with love and my soul with pride.

“I cannot put words on my sadness and my pain, there are no words to describe them.

“I don’t know why you were taken from me and my heart hurts in your absence.

“But I promise you your name will live on.

“I will carry your name across all oceans, along every road, to the top of every mountain and across the globe.

“Your name will live, your legacy will be remembered and I will seek peace by living as your vessel to continue to inspire, give strength, spread joy and save lives in your name, with your spirit, as your father until we meet again. “

Cain added that she “saved” her life and gave him a “second chance”, before ending the post with lyrics from Disney’s The … song I Wan’na Be like You …
