Baseball bat man confronts teens on Hove Lawns Brighton News

VIDEO captures the moment a man wielding a baseball bat confronted a group of young people before chasing him down the street.

Police were called to report a crash between about 30 young people and a man, suspected of being in his 50s, in Kingsway, Hove, around 8 p.m. on Friday April 24.

In the video, widely shared on social media, a man can be seen wearing a gray tracksuit and holding a baseball bat as he addresses a group of teenagers on Hove Lawns.

He is then taken away by a woman.

But when he’s turned his back on her, one of the teenagers seems to punch him in the head before running off to his friends.

Screams and heckling can be heard as a can of beer is thrown at the man and woman on the A259 waterfront road.

The man turns and yells back at the group of young people before being pushed away by the woman again.

As the two walk on Second Avenue, someone can be heard calling the police.

The woman calling 999 says, “There’s a man with a baseball bat and he’s fighting a bunch of f ****** teenagers.

“We’re at the end of Second Avenue and they’re all chasing him now.

We don’t know what happened next.
