Police are investigating reports that rank-and-file horsemen jumped off the set built for a Mission: Impossible movie.
A tweet from the Derbyshire Dales Response Unit said: “Stoney Middleton. Reports of people jumping off this film set with parachutes. We are assisting with an area search but cannot find them. Investigations ongoing…”
The Derbyshire Quarry is used as the location for Mission: Impossible 7.
The photos of the set show a railway track towards a precipice at the surface mine in the Peak District.
Tom cruise, who plays lead character Ethan Hunt, was previously seen filming in the North York Moors.
The upcoming film suffered a number of setbacks during production.
The most important of these was the delays caused by coronavirus Filming was due to start in Italy in February 2020.
Production then moved to Warner Bros Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire.
Last month, the film’s release date was pushed back from November to May 2022.
