Four more people have died from COVID-19 in the UK and 2,357 more cases have been reported in the last 24-hour period.
Today’s figures compare to one death within 28 days of a positive test and 1,649 cases last Monday.
The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic stands at 127,609.
The latest daily government figures also show that 100,626 people have had a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine and 187,171 received their second dose.
This means that 17,856,550 are now fully vaccinated, while 35,472,295 have received at least one vaccine.
The government has announced that it will offer a shot to all adults by the end of July, and in England anyone over 40 is now eligible.
