A man has been charged with the murder of a mother of two found dead by a dog walker in east London.

The body of mother-of-two Maria Rawlings, 45, of Chelmsford, Essex, was discovered in a shrub in Little Heath, Romford, by a man around 2 p.m. last Tuesday.

She had attended King George Hospital in Goodmayes, Ilford, before she died, police said.

Valentin Lazar will appear in Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday on charges of his murder, Metropolitan Police said.

In a statement, the force said: “A post-mortem examination at the Walthamstow morgue on Wednesday May 5 gave a preliminary cause of Maria’s death such as a compression of the neck and possible blunt head trauma.”
