Former Sheffield Book Club drummer Anthony Allen dies UK News

In a Facebook post, his father, Graham Allen, said his son, who was affectionately referred to as ‘Ant’, died at his home in Sheffield on May 7 (Friday) after a long struggle with anxiety, the depression and addiction.

He wrote: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son Anthony Edward Allen, following a long struggle with anxiety, depression and addiction.

“Ant passed away at his home in Sheffield on Friday 7 May 2021. He will be sadly missed by me, his mother Mary and his sister Bryony.

In memory of Anthony Allen, his family created this fundraising page for donations that will be sent on his behalf to the charities close to his heart.

“The funeral service has not yet been arranged. We will post the information online when arrangements are finalized.”

His family has also started a fundraising page in memory of Anthony, with proceeds going to the charities close to his heart.

In a moving tribute, his former Book Club band mates said: “It is with deep sadness that we say that our former drummer Anthony Allen has passed away.

“Together, we have had incredible moments and have so many precious memories that we will keep with us.

“He was not only a great talent, but the funniest person in the room with a huge personality and an even bigger heart.

“Anthony, one of a kind and will be sadly missed. Joe, Pat and Tom x.”

Anthony was also one of the founders of a popular clothing line, Skull and Bones Boys Club.
