A major city in Somerset recorded a 58% increase in anti-social behavior (ASB) crimes from February 2021 to March 2021, as coronavirus restrictions began to be lifted.
Taunton recorded a combined total of 533 reported crimes in March 2021, an increase of 22% from the 434 incidents reported in February 2021.
The information is published monthly by Avon and Somerset Police and break-ins in Taunton Central, Taunton East, Taunton North and Taunton West.
Across all four areas, a total of 117 ASB crimes were reported in March 2021, an increase of 58% from 74 ASB crimes in February 2021.

In March, coronavirus restrictions were lifted slightly, allowing social contact with up to someone outside your household on March 8.
As of March 29, the Rule of Six was implemented across England, which also saw the ‘stay at home’ message dropped.
