UK Politics: ‘No Return’ For Labor ‘Populace’ As Brexit Shows Party Contempt For Voters | UK | New UK News

Sir Keir Starmer suffered a humiliating defeat in the recent local council elections as Boris Johnson’s Tories swept them all aside. In a series of astonishing reversals, the Labor Party has lost more than 260 councilors, while the Tories have picked up almost 300. At the time of writing, the Tories had taken control of 13 councils, while the Labor Party had lost overall control of eight.

His party’s brutal defeat in the Hartlepool by-elections added to Mr Starmer’s woes.

The Tories received 51.9% of the vote in crushing Labor in one of its former northern strongholds.

A former Brexit Party MEP has warned Sir Keir that there is no turning back for his defeated party.

Dan Hodges, of the Daily Mail, said: “Let’s face it, Labor is a mess. They are a mob.

“We need to stop seeing them as a serious political party and recognize that they are just a glorified student union.”

GB News Tom Harwood joked: “Sir Keir yesterday: I take full responsibility.

“Sir Keir today: it was Angela Rayner’s fault.”
