PC World and Carphone Warehouse disappear in Currys rebranding Business

The PC World and Carphone Warehouse brands are set to disappear from Main Street as DixonsCarphone renames all of its stores as Currys.

The electricity retailer said all Currys PC World, Carphone Warehouse, Team Knowhow and Dixons Carphone stores in the UK and Ireland will be renamed by October.

The Currys name will appear on more than 300 stores, 13,000 staff uniforms and more than 300 delivery vehicles, the FTSE 250 company said.

Dixons Carphone will also change its name to Currys plc on the London Stock Exchange after the annual meeting in September.

Alex Baldock, managing director, said the decision to rename Currys was “obvious”.

“Ever since Henry Curry started helping everyone enjoy the incredible technology of his day – the bicycle – in 1884, Currys has been the best-known and most trusted technology brand,” he said. .

“Currys will have a bold, modern look and feel, but this is a gear shift, not a facelift.”

He added: “We have worked hard to become a joint venture and to become Currys reflects and accelerates that.”
