Person dies of coronavirus in Somerset – Latest breakdown of infections Bath City News

Another coronavirus death has been recorded in Somerset, according to the latest figures.

Covid deaths have been reported in our county for five consecutive days, although deaths remain low across the UK.

Today’s (May 13) death has been confirmed in the Mendip region – the total for that district now stands at 162.

Data also released today shows that a total of 20 new positive coronavirus test results have been recorded in Somerset.

Seven new cases were reported in Bath and North East Somerset, while five were recorded in Somerset West and Taunton.

There were three or less confirmed positive test results in all other areas of the county.

Bath and North East Somerset: 8,288 (+7 new positive test results) Mendip: 3,487 (+3 new positive test results)
North Somerset: 10,144 (+2 new positive test results)
Sedgemoor: 5451 (+2 new positive test results)
Somerset West and Taunton: 6,006 (+5 new positive test results)
South Somerset: 5,486 (+1 new positive test result)
Death within 28 days of a positive test result

Statistics show the number of deaths of people who have died within 28 days of a positive test result.
