The offer to buy from former Sheffield Wednesday adviser Erik Alonso in County Derby – reports UK News

The Telegraph reports that Derby is “abandoning negotiations” with the Spaniard and is now moving forward with an American consortium.

Alonso previously made a purchase offer on Wednesday, offering £ 30million, alongside what would have been Indonesian backers, but the offer was rejected by Owls chairman Dejphon Chansiri.

He then moved on to Derby and it looked like Alonso was on the verge of pulling off that attempt.

Former Sheffield Wednesday adviser Erik Alonso appears to have failed in his bid to buy Derby County.

However, there had always been concerns about his ability to raise money and indeed this week he posted a video on social media showing a luxurious house presumably to display his wealth which has been proven to have been drawn from an American real estate agent’s tiktok account.

Alonso later deleted the message and his account and claimed it had been hacked.

Now it looks like we got to see the last of the man who claimed his reputation would be damaged by continuing to work for Sheffield on Wednesday.

He said after stepping down from his role with the Owls: “Unfortunately, due to the forces around the club, it has become untenable to continue, especially as the chances of my reputation being affected have become evident.

“If things change at the club I would be more than happy to come back and bring all the strength I have to get him back to where the club should be in the Premier League.”
