This stunning archive photo of Argus is dated around 1937 and is believed to show the annual Tinsley Green marble competition.

The World Marbles Championship is still going strong – if Covid allows it – and is held at the Greyhound pub on Friday mornings.

Notice the player who is still holding his beer mug with his other hand.
