6. Nissan Leaf e +, 217 miles
The first-generation Nissan Leaf was among the first affordable electric cars, but it wasn’t a distance champion. The second-generation model made gains, but it was the e + version that made the biggest leap, thanks to a 62 kWh battery. Compared to the 40 kWh battery seen in the regular car, it allows for an additional 90 miles of driving in the real world.
The e + also has more horsepower than the regular Leaf, with 214 horsepower, which makes it much more responsive. It does suffer from a less refined ride than the standard car, however, so using that extra power in the corners isn’t as fun as it could be.

7. Mercedes-Benz EQC, 208 miles
In addition to experiments with intelligent electric cars and a battery-powered AMG SLS sports car, the EQC is Mercedes’ first production electric vehicle. It’s a premium SUV with a familiar but different styling, so it doesn’t stand out too much from the rest of the Mercedes lineup and offers the kind of interior we’ve come to expect from the brand.
An 80 kWh battery must power two motors, one for each to produce a combined torque of 402 hp and 561 lb-ft, giving it a higher throttle boost than either of its two traditional rivals, the Jaguar. I-Pace and the Audi e-tron. While it has more horsepower than the Jaguar, it drains its battery faster for everyday driving – you can expect to see typical real-world range of over 200 miles, which just beats the Audi in. similar price.
