Coast Guard helicopter assists emergency incident near Eastbourne Brighton News

A COASTGUARD helicopter was called in as part of a major emergency response to an incident.

HM Coastguard said rescue teams from Newhaven and Birling Gap attended the scene near Eastbourne yesterday morning, and a helicopter was also dispatched from Lydd in Kent.

The Eastbourne RNLI launched a lifeboat at 10 a.m., and Sussex Police and Ambulance Service were also present.

Details of the incident and the exact location have not been confirmed by the Coast Guard or the RNLI.
