Susanna Reid has let a very unexpected cat out of the bag with the news that a former colleague will join her on Good Morning Britain next week.
The big reveal came during a commercial break for Loose Women on Wednesday in which, appearing solo on camera, Susanna teased, “A long-standing on-screen partnership is a rare thing and next week, I am reuniting with my former presentation partner. ”
In a teaser, which on purpose, or not so deliberately, perhaps made viewers think Piers Morgan might return to his old playground, Susanna continued, “He vowed to never remake the little one’s television again. -lunch … but I’m glad to say he’s changed his mind. ”

However, it wasn’t Piers she was talking about, but her ex-BBC Breakfast crime partner Bill Turnbull, who previously hosted the show.
In the promo, Susanna added, “Bill Turnbull is joining me as a guest presenter next week.”
Bill, who introduced Susanna to the BBC a number of years before changing channels for ITV, reacted to the news by saying: “I’m very happy to be back on GMB, especially as I find my old friend Susanna.
In addition to a stint as a GMB guest presenter in the past, Bill appeared on the show last year to talk about protection during the coronavirus pandemic after being diagnosed with incurable prostate cancer in 2017. .

Bill’s guest role comes after Alastair Campbell joined Susanna for three days last week. And there’s another staff change next month when Richard Madeley becomes a presenter, following his stint as the presenter of Loose Women Special Loose Men.
