Princess Beatrice pregnant with first child, says Buckingham Palace | UK News

Princess Beatrice is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in the fall, Buckingham Palace has announced.

The couple got married in July of last year in a secret ceremony in the presence of the Queen at All Saints Chapel, Windsor Great Park.

Plans for a public event like the wedding of his sister Princess Eugenie have been scuttled by the coronavirus pandemic.

A statement from Buckingham Palace said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very happy to announce that they are expecting a baby in the fall of this year.

“The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”

The child will be the Queen’s 12th great-grandchild, as Prince Harry’s second baby is due this summer.

Princess Beatrice, 32, became aunt earlier this year when Princess Eugenie gave birth to her first child with Jack Brooksbank.

Her baby will be the parents’ other grandchild, Prince Andrew and ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York.

Princess Beatrice and Mr Mozzi got engaged in September 2019 after a whirlwind romance.
