Manor and Arborthorne Police spotted a vehicle which raised suspicion because its license plates had been cloned.
Its occupants got out of the vehicle and tried to escape on foot, but Polcie caught up with a man and stopped him.
They then searched the vehicle and found a large curved blade in the trunk. The vehicle and the weapon were confiscated.
The man remains in detention.
