Dramatic footage has emerged from a fire that broke out in central Bridgwater last night.

A fire raged in a Salmon Parade garage and dozens of people alerted fire crews shortly before 11 p.m. last night (Thursday, May 20).

The images show a large fire sending billows of smoke into the sky.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services confirmed in a newspaper: ‘Fire control received several calls reporting a garage attached to a burning property in the location above, and quickly mobilized Bridgwater teams.

Fire crews received ‘multiple calls’ about the blaze last night Garage was completely destroyed

“Upon their arrival, the teams confirmed that the garage used as a storage building was indeed on fire.

“The appliances came from Taunton and Burnham-on-Sea.

“The crews got to work and put out the fire with two breathing apparatuses, a 105 ladder, two triple extension ladders, two retractor jets and a safety jet.

“The building and its contents were 100% destroyed by fire. These are the complete and final details.”
