Here is where it stands:

Those we know

Wednesday’s first outing was confirmed months ago when it was announced that the academy graduate, Liam shaw, had entered into a pre-contract which would see him join the Scottish giants, Celtic, at the end of the current campaign.

The Owls would earn around £ 300,000 in compensation given the role they played in his development, but they essentially lost him as a free agent.

Sheffield Wednesday will be very different next season.

At this point, the only other confirmed move from the exits is the Dutch defender, Joost van Aken, who signed a two-year contract with Zulte Waragem in the Belgian top flight.

Van Aken had a rough time at Hillsborough as he struggled to recover from a Steel City Derby loss to Sheffield United, and also suffered injuries ahead of his exit. He has already left the country.

Friday, Jordan Rhodes became the latest player to secure his next move, signing a three-year contract with his former club Huddersfield Town.

The link

Tom lees is another player who has been linked with Huddersfield following his departure from Hillsborough, but he is unlikely to be the only side in the Championship to keep an eye on the experienced center-back as he recovers from the injury that he suffered towards the end of the season.

For Kadeem Harris, he doesn’t seem to be out of options. The quick winger, who played as a winger often towards the end of his career on Wednesday, has been linked with numerous clubs in recent months with Middlesbrough, Stoke City and even Premier League Watford being mentioned in the media.

One player who could be set for a very interesting summer is a signing of £ 5million, Adam reach, which will rise to a new challenge elsewhere. The likes of Bristol City, Cardiff, the Hornets and – more recently – Norwich City, have all been linked with the former all-round Boro man – another who is unlikely to have trouble landing a new club.

Elsewhere, Joey pelupessy was touted for a return to the Netherlands halfway through the championship and Turkey, Matt penney would have been a target for Swindon Town not long ago, while Keiren Westwood would have been the subject of offers before the start of the 2020/21 campaign.

Other outgoing players such as Elias Kachunga and Moses Odubajo are not yet publicly linked with other clubs as they are weighing their options after their respective outings from the Owls, but they will certainly have made their way onto club radar following the official announcement of their departure.
