Sheffield detectives are working on four murder investigations in the city after stabbings, shootings and attacks UK News

The latest murder investigation was launched last week when 22-year-old Armend Xhika was stabbed in an attack.

He was injured during a night of violence when a group of men were involved in fighting on Earl Marshal Road, Fir Vale and Kirton Road, Pitsmooor, shortly before 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 13.

Armend, an illegal immigrant from Albania, was taken to the General Hospital of the North and dropped off outside A&E before the driver left the scene.

Doctors fought to save him and performed open heart surgery, but he died soon after.

Another young man was also stabbed in the attack.

A man in his thirties and two men in his twenties who were arrested for murder were later released without charge along with a man in his twenties arrested for causing grievous bodily harm with intent and a woman in his twenties arrested on suspicion of helping a delinquent.

Three weeks earlier, Danny Irons, 32, had been stabbed to death in Fretson Green, Manor.

The father of three was found seriously injured a few meters from a children’s playground in the early hours of Saturday April 17.

Two men have been charged with her murder – Daniel Chadwick, 29, of Melville Drive, Manor and Ross Turton, 29, of Danewood Avenue, Manor.

A week earlier, Sheffield lawyer Khuram Javed, also known as Khurm and Khurram, had been shot dead in the city.

The 30-year-old was shot dead in an altercation in an alley off Clough Road near Bramall Lane.

South Yorkshire Police said shots were fired after a ‘two-party confrontation’.

Khuram, who was a married father of two, worked for Alison Law Solicitors on London Road.

Samsul Mohamed, 18, of Wolseley Road, Heeley, has been charged with murder for the shooting.

The first murder investigation of the year was launched after warehouse worker Lee Phillips, 45, was found dead at his home on South Road, High Green, after an assault.

Arrests were made but no one was charged.
