A crowd threw objects at police at the scene of an alleged shooting and stabbing in Brixton, south London.
Officers, some with firearms, were deployed to Moorland Road on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. after what Metropolitan Police described as a “serious incident”.
Paramedics from London Air Ambulance were also present and police said a man in his mid-20s was found with what are believed to be gunshot wounds and stab wounds.
He was taken to a south London hospital, where his condition was assessed not to be life threatening but could be life changing, police said.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested for attempted murder and remains in custody.
The force said officers were approached by a large group of people and objects were thrown at them.
No officer was reportedly seriously injured, and Territorial Support Group officers worked to disperse the crowd.
A crime scene remains in place and a police presence in the area.
