The film and television industry needs to take more responsibility for abuse in the industry, the president of Time’s Up told Sky News.

Dame Heather Rabbatts, who is also the actor’s non-executive chair Noel Clarkeof the production company, said the industry “absolutely needs to find ways to take on more responsibility.”

The Guardian has spoken to about 20 women, and others have come forward afterwards, to accuse Clarke of sexual harassment and intimidation – claims he “vehemently denies.”

Dame Heather told Sky News she was unaware of the allegations and none of the women came forward to Time’s Up, a charity that works to end sexual harassment in the workplace created in January 2018.

She said: “I think there has been progress, but we absolutely have to watch like a laser ‘what are the gaps? What do we do next?’ And there is no simple answer. It is only by working together that we will find collective solutions. “

It comes as small screen stars prepare to walk the BAFTA red carpet tonight for TV prices – but the controversy surrounding Clarke is still unresolved.
