A study has found that the UK’s best beach isn’t in the South West. And of course, we don’t agree.
Instead, the judges – who considered 400 options – crowned a Yorkshire beach as the best in the country.
The study, conducted by Holidaycottage.co.uk, assessed beaches on a number of factors, including the availability of parking lots, toilets, lifeguards, cafes, water quality, accessibility, water sports available and whether the beach accepts dogs.

Saltburn Beach in Yorkshire came in first, as the UK’s best for 2021, the Mirror reports.
The beach, popular with families and surfers alike, has impressed across a number of factors, from its facilities to suitable swimming waters in new research.
Cornwall’s favorite Fistral Beach finished second, while Alum Chine in Bournemouth took seventh.
Fistral has long been a favorite with vacationers thanks to its large expanse of golden sand and rugged coastline views, not to mention the waters suitable for swimming (there are lifeguards in high season).
