A pickup truck was recovered by police following a chase through the streets of County Durham.
Officers were alerted to the suspected stolen van on the A691 near Witton Gilbert at around 9:10 a.m. Thursday.
They began to follow him before the vehicle was finally abandoned by suspected thieves in a wood in Easington Lane.
Police have confirmed that the van was picked up by officers and investigations are ongoing.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: “Officers were involved in a chase of a suspected stolen van.
“The incident happened at around 9:10 am after officers were alerted to the vehicle on the A691 near Witton Gilbert.
“The occupants of the van eventually abandoned the vehicle in the woods at Easington Lane before fleeing.
“It has since been recovered by officers. Investigations are ongoing.
