An update to the 2021 model will give the Alpina XD3 updated styling, extra torque and improved handling, with prices starting at £ 67,950.
The German performance firm says the XD3 will deliver “excellent longitudinal and lateral dynamics without sacrificing ride comfort,” aided by its sport suspension and revised sport steering.
The company’s performance control feature has also been updated, with a standard limited-slip differential to improve dynamic cornering.
Under the hood, the XD3’s 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six diesel delivers 355 hp and now features 538 lb-ft of torque at 1,750-2750 rpm, an increase of 22 lb-ft. pi compared to its predecessor.
“The BMW Alpina XD3 and XD4 are aimed at drivers looking to combine a superior driving experience and comfort with the ability to cover long distances with ease,” said Alpina. “They embody a one-of-a-kind driving experience shaped by exceptional driving dynamics and high torque, supported by the reliability and efficiency for which diesels are known.”
The increase in torque allows the SUV to cover 0-62 mph in 4.9 seconds and it has a top speed of 158 mph.
The XD3 benefits from a new styling introduced by the standard BMW X3, with new headlights and a new lightweight grille design with updated aerodynamic components added by Alpina to the front and rear of the car.
Inside the car, customers can customize the piping, stitching, embroidery and embossing. BMW parking assistance and exterior mirrors are also standard.
The updated Alpina XD3 is already on sale, with deliveries expected from November this year.
