Filming of Dungeons and Dragons Wells – everything we know about the blockbuster set in Somerset Bath City News

A blockbuster is currently being filmed in Somerset and Hugh Grant has been spotted in the area because of it.

Dungeons and Dragons – which hits theaters in 2023 – will also feature other big names like Chris Pine.

The film is produced by Paramount and eOne entertainment company owned by Hasbro, the parent company of the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game.

But here’s everything we know about the movie:

Who will play in the film?

Hugh Grant will play a villain called Forge Ledger in this film adaptation of Dungeons and Dragons.

The 60-year-old actor will be joined by other movie stars, including Star Trek’s Chris Pine, The Fast and the Furious actress Michelle Rodriguez and Bridgerton’s favorite RegĂ©-Jean Page.

The lineup also includes such figures as Sophia Lillis, Daisy Head and Justice Smith.

Other actors involved in the film have been spotted there but their identities have not yet been confirmed.

Where have they turned?

Earlier this week, film crews were spotted on the set at Wells Cathedral for the first scenes in Somerset.

Wells City Council confirmed last month that filming will take place in the city’s Anglican Cathedral.

Matthew Minter, the events manager at Wells Cathedral, said they could not comment in detail on the nature of the filming that was due to take place due to the nondisclosure agreements signed.

He said: “I can’t really say much except that George fought one of these animals and killed it and if you’re really bad you’re locked in a dungeon – that’s pretty much. nearly as cryptic as I will be. “

Outside the county, the crews were also spotted at Alnwick Castle in Northumberland.

What is the film about?

The plot of the fantasy film has yet to be disclosed, however, director duo Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are attached as directors and writers.

The couple were co-writer of the black comedy Horrible Bosses (2011) and co-writer of the Marvel superhero film Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) alongside other writers.

When is he going to come out?

Filming for the blockbuster Dungeons and Dragons began in early April and reportedly shot scenes in Iceland and Belfast.

This means that filming is still in its early stages and, with the pandemic having caused delays, its release is not expected until March 2023.
