Ed Sheeran: Personal Video Of Singer Performing In School Production Of Grease To Be Auctioned | Ents & Arts News

A personal video of teenage Ed Sheeran singing in his school production of the musical Grease is up for auction.

The film, which lasts almost two hours, shows Sheeran as a 15 year old teenager playing the character of Roger or “Rump”.

Dressed in a leather jacket and slicked back hair, he offers the audience a solo interpretation of the song Mooning.

The DVD recording is being sold by Omega Auctions, who shared a preview of it ahead of the sale on June 29.

Auctioneer Paul Fairweather said: “Over the past year or so, we’ve seen an exponential increase in interest in memorabilia and collectibles related to contemporary artists, especially Ed Sheeran.

“We sold a rare first CD track for £ 50,000 in September of last year and since then inquiries and mailings have not stopped.

“The pictures are a great show and we think they definitely give a clue to Ed’s star potential.”

it comes after a painting that Sheeran made raised £ 51,000 for her local cancer charity in a raffle in March.

The piece, titled Splash Planet, was inspired by American abstract painter Jackson Pollock, the star said at the time.

It was bought by someone from the east coast of the United States – who only paid £ 20 for their ticket.

Later this month, Sheeran is set to release his first solo single in four years – Bad Habits.
