Two more coronavirus deaths recorded in Mendip in latest figures Bath City News

There have been 72 more coronavirus cases reported in Somerset, the latest official figures showed today (Tuesday).

Bath and North East Somerset have confirmed 27 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, up from 27 yesterday.

North Somerset recorded 22 positive tests, South Somerset had 12, Somerset West and Taunton and Sedgemoor both reported four and Mendip had three.

In total, there have been 65 new cases of the coronavirus in Somerset and Bath in the past 24 hours, up from 61 yesterday.

Two new deaths within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 have been confirmed in Somerset and Bath in the past 24 hours, with 10 more deaths in the UK.

The number of positive test results in each area since the start of the pandemic is recorded below, with the new positive test results in parentheses.

Bath and North East Somerset: 8,520 (+27) Mendip: 3,512 (+3) North Somerset: 10,335 (+22) Sedgemoor: 5,526 (+4) Somerset West and Taunton: 6,061 (+4)

Distribution of Covid deaths for each region of Somerset

The number of deaths within 28 days of a positive test result in each area since the start of the pandemic is recorded below, with new deaths and deaths removed from the total after past data revisions, in parentheses.

Bath and North East Somerset: 218 (-) Mendip: 161 (+2) North Somerset: 315 (-) Sedgemoor: 161 (-) Somerset West and Taunton: 203 (-) South Somerset: 154 (-)

Vaccination

Government data up to June 14 shows that of the 72,040,763 injections given in the UK so far, 41,831,056 were first doses – an increase of 132,627 the day before.

Some 30,209,707 were second doses, an increase of 235,928.
