Woman taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by car in County Durham UK News

A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a car in County Durham.

The pedestrian was reportedly run over by a black Audi A4 on the A690 at Rainton Gate around 1 a.m. on Saturday June 12.

The Audi was traveling eastbound on the roadway when it collided with the woman, who sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.

She was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for further treatment.

Durham Police are now appealing for all witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone traveling on the A690 between midnight and 1 a.m., especially those with dashcam footage.

Anyone with information that can assist the police in their investigations is asked to call 101, quoting incident number 26 of June 12.
