Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, celebrates his 39th birthday today.
The Duke will be celebrating his last 30 years after surprising runners during a race around Sandringham Estate on Father’s Day.
Prince william was photographed at the microphone with his two eldest children, Prince george and Princess charlotte, countdown to the start of the race.
Brian Cook, who competed in the race and photographed the royal trio, sharing the snap on Twitter, said it was a “nice surprise and fun to do”.
Run Sandringham welcomed hundreds of runners of all skill levels and ages to run a half marathon, 5K or community mile, with the goal of raising “several thousand pounds for good causes.”
It is understood that the Duke of Cambridge was not attending the event and was present in a private capacity.
He was seen wearing a blue shirt and a pair of navy chinos, while George and Charlotte were pictured wearing shorts and sneakers.
Another Run Sandringham event is set to take place on September 26, with hopes that no social distancing restrictions will be necessary.
The event features a scenic drive around the grounds of Sandringham Estate, the Queenthe winter retreat.
Prince William, second to the throne after his father, prince charles, was born at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington at 9:03 p.m. on June 21, 1982.
He was Charles and Dianeeldest son of and weighed 7 lbs 1.5 oz.
He accompanied his parents on a six-week official visit to Australia and New Zealand, at the age of only nine months, breaking with royal tradition.
William’s mother, who separated from Charles in 1992, died in a car crash in 1997.
