Full BBC Glastonbury Festival TV program Bath City News

The 2021 Glastonbury Festival is almost here! Well it should be. The coronavirus, of course, ended this year’s event, as it did with so many of our favorite gatherings. Fear not, though: Aunt Beeb is here to bring some Somerset mud and music to our homes this weekend.

Yes, the BBC’s Glastonbury Experience is here to show us the best of Glastonbury’s past. Airing all weekend, the pop-up channel iPlayer, with takeovers of BBC Two and BBC Four, will feature headliners including Radiohead, REM, Arctic Monkeys and Iggy Pop, among many others.

Aired on BBC Two and iPlayer, Friday’s ’90s theme will feature key moments such as Robbie Williams’ pyramid scene in 1998 and Radiohead’s performance in 1997, which came just two weeks after the release of their acclaimed album by criticism, OK Computer.

On Saturday BBC Two will feature some of the best tracks seen at the Glastonbury Festival since 2000, culminating with Kylie Minogue’s 2019 set.

We may have to wait a bit for House the Dragon to appear on our screens, but there are plenty of epic boxes waiting to be discovered.

Live at Worthy Farm: Backstage is a special behind-the-scenes documentary about how May’s online livestream came about. It features interviews with some of the event’s headliners – Damon Albarn, Coldplay and Wolf Alice, to name a few – as well as organizer Emily Eavis. Highlights from the livestream itself follow next.

On BBC Four, there’s a very first full broadcast of Fela Kuti’s 1984 set, followed by a documentary on famed Glastonbury artist Joe Rush.
