Matt Hancock: Denise Welch criticizes Boris Johnson’s statement

There are growing calls for the Health Secretary to step down following the incident, which violated government guidelines on social distancing. Mr Hancock apologized for his actions on Friday, commenting: “I let people down and I’m so sorry.”

Boris Johnson is at his side and “considered the matter closed”.

David Videcette, a former detective who helped investigate the 7/7 attacks in London, suggested that a “secret camera was hidden in a smoke detector”.

The footage, obtained by The Sun, appears to have been filmed from inside Mr Hancock’s office in Whitehall.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, government insiders said it was “unheard of” for cameras to be placed in ministers’ offices.

The health secretary hired Ms Coladangelo, whom he met while they were both studying at Oxford, last year.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Dr Alan Mandoza of the Henry Jackson Society think tank said police needed to investigate whether a foreign power was involved.

He commented: “Given the gravity, all other ministerial offices will now need to be immediately scanned to see what other listening and recording devices are spying on ministers.

“Steps should also be taken to determine whether this incident was carried out by a disgruntled official or – given its sophistication and seriousness – agents of a hostile state.”

The video appears to be a cell phone recording of footage from a CCTV type screen.

Mr Hancock, married with three children, is said to have retired to the family home in West Suffolk.

His wife, Martha, remains at their London address and has been pictured walking her dog.

Speaking to the Mail, a security expert said: “In all my years of working in this field, I have never seen a camera placed in an office like this.

“An office is a private space and that raises all kinds of issues.

“To me, it looks more like a little secret camera that has been placed in a light fixture.”

Mr Videcette, now a detective writer, reached a similar conclusion on Twitter.

BBC host has Matt Hancock dig during “Any Questions?” “

He tweeted: “Looking at the angle of the shots of her clinch with her lover, and assuming Matt Hancock’s office is a mirror image of him at the other end of the building, that would be my assessment. that the secret camera was hidden in the smoke detector in his office.

“If someone can put a secret camera in a minister’s office so easily, it’s a huge security problem, and next time it might be a bomb.”

Sources close to Dominic Cummings, who has criticized Mr Hancock on several occasions since he was sacked as Mr Johnson’s chief adviser, have denied playing a role in the leak.
