Sky News presenter Trevor Phillips challenged a Conservative minister of the government’s “rule for us” mentality, saying people were not allowed to attend his daughter’s funeral due to COVID restrictions.
Phillips, who hosts the channel’s Sunday political show, revealed how hundreds of family and friends were unable to be at the grave for the funeral last month due to the coronavirus rules which Mr. Hancock himself broke.
Mr Phillips spoke about his own personal loss and the impact of the lockdown restrictions after Mr. Hancock tried to hang on to the desk despite the pictures showing him in a passionate embrace with a married helper Gina Coladangelo, that was a few days before Phillips had the outdoor funeral of no more than 30.

On Friday, the day the footage was published in The Sun, Boris Johnson cornered by Mr Hancock and Downing Street said the Prime Minister considered the matter closed after apologizing and said he wanted to focus on the pandemic.
However, in the face of a public backlash and calls from Tory MPs to leave, Mr Hancock finally bowed to the pressure and resigned on Saturday night.
Addressed by Phillips on how long it took Mr Hancock to resign, Northern Ireland Secretary Brandon Lewis said the focus had been on tackling the pandemic, but the controversy over his position had become “distracting.”
He added that Mr Hancock took the time to think it over and decided his position was untenable, and “in doing this he put his family and indeed all of us in the UK first” so that the First minister can focus on the pandemic.
