COVID-19: British passengers arriving in Portugal must quarantine for 14 days if not fully vaccinated | World news

British travelers to Portugal who are not fully vaccinated against the coronavirus must self-quarantine for 14 days upon arrival from today.

Anyone traveling on the continent Portugal by air, land or sea, must prove that they have received two doses of a COVID-19[female[feminine vaccine at least two weeks ago, or need to isolate.

The new rules, introduced by the Portuguese government, come into force on Monday and will last until at least July 11.

French President Emmanuel Macron said he would support a mandatory 14-day quarantine for all unvaccinated passengers, the newspaper reports.

Currently, people who are not fully vaccinated are only allowed to travel from the UK to France if they can prove it is essential.

They must prove they have tested negative for the virus and self-isolate for seven days upon arrival.

Those who are fully vaccinated against COVID do not need to be quarantined, but must prove their immunization status.

Merkel’s proposals will be discussed by senior EU officials in the coming days.
