Father of two with inoperable tumor calls for more than 1% of budget to be spent on brain cancer | UK News

A father of two young girls with an inoperable brain tumor takes part in a campaign to get more funding for research to find a cure.

Sam Suriakumar, 35, was coming home from work on the subway in London 16 months ago when, out of the blue, he had a seizure.

He woke up in the hospital to learn the news that they had found a tumor.

The statistics are not good.

They show that 88% of people diagnosed with a brain tumor die within five years.

And they are the cause of 35% of all childhood cancer deaths, while only 1% of national cancer research funding is allocated to brain tumors.

The charity has launched a campaign called “Stop the Devastation”, which includes a short video featuring Mr.
