Bedford School Entrepreneur in Residence wins prestigious honor in memory of Princess Diana Bedford News

Bedford School Entrepreneur in Residence Zubair Junjunia received the Diana Award.

The highest honor a young person can get for their social work or humanitarian efforts, the award was created in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, of the charity of the same name – and is supported by her sons , The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex.

Zubair’s role at school has so far included an Entrepreneurship Day, which included a series of assignments and presentations where the boys worked towards a United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and a workshop preparation for school on the art of storytelling.

He was honored with the Diana Award for going “above and beyond to tackle inequalities in education”, with his review platform, ZNotes.

Founded in 2014, he created ZNotes as a way to share review notes after recognizing that there was a disparity in the access of students around the world to resources, guidance and support while preparing for their exams. .

He said: “At the age of 16, on my first round of IGCSE exams, I realized: hundreds of thousands of students around the world will be taking the exact same exams as me and yet, the access and quality of resources available to everyone vary so dramatically. Some have access to the best education and private lessons, while others cannot even afford the basic textbooks.

“So I did what I could: start a blog to share the resources I had created for my own review. Through word of mouth, these concise, high-quality review notes were discovered by students around the world, and ZNotes was born. “
