Love Island’s Brad McClelland turns out to be most popular boy as contestants pair up UK News

A worker from Northumberland turned out to be the most popular boy of the night at the start of Love Island’s seventh series.

Brad McClelland, of Amble, had an exciting start to the series, becoming the Most Wanted Man within the show’s first hour.

The Amble Brad worker, who confessed that “looking for me is the most important thing” in a relationship, immediately turned out to be the most popular boy of the night, with three young girls stepping forward in an attempt to claim his affection.

With three vying for him, Brad went for “the one in the blue” (AKA Faye Winter) – the girl who had once proven most popular with men, being chosen by two other guys before Brad.

The 26-year-old from Northumberland, who comes to the villa after an eight-and-a-half-year relationship, said he was satisfied with his choice of Faye, a “beautiful girl” with whom he had “fallen for a bit”.

After a long lockdown, the islanders were all delighted to step into their “sanitized sex bubble” and maybe find this one.

It was a more disappointing start for two of the boys, Hugo Hammond and Toby Aromolaran, for whom neither of the girls showed up.

But, as Hugo, a philosophical physical education teacher, said: “It’s a long game, not a short game, so everything will be fine.”

With the first group of couples now in place, it’s shaping up to be a dramatic summer.

Love Island airs on ITV2 at 9 p.m. every night except Saturdays.
