Fans, footballing legends, celebrities and politicians have praised the England squad after their 2-0 Euro 2020 win over Germany at Wembley.

As the stands erupted at Wembley, fanzones, pubs and bars across the country were unleashed to cheers from supporters.

The Euro triumph was front page news, with fans taking to social media to share their joy.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson tweeted a photo of him reflecting the celebration of Kane’s goal, with the caption: “Well done England. We’re all behind you, take him home!”

Even German Ambassador to the UK Andreas Michaelis described it as a “well-deserved victory” and conceded: “We will have to build a new team”.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who was in the crowd with Prince George, praised the team for their “incredible performance”.

There were other famous faces in the stands, with David Beckham and singer Ed Sheeran pictured side-by-side celebrating full time.

Rapper Stormzy was nearby at Wembley’s Boxpark and was filmed jumping and dancing after the victory.

Former England Star Wayne rooney posted a photo of himself and his son wearing English shirts on Instagram with the words “Get in. Well done lads”.

Gary Lineker tweeted a photo of goalscorer Sterling and said he “was the pride of the country” and said the phrase “the Germans always win” could “rest in peace”.
