Where and when to get the Covid-19 vaccine in Brighton Brighton News

The WALK-IN Covid-19 vaccination clinics will be open to all in Brighton and Hove this weekend.

The sessions are being held for the purpose of “Max the Vax”, amid an increase in the number of cases across the city.

Over the past weekend, a total of 2,000 doses were given to the people of Sussex in contextual immunization sessions. 20,000 additional injections were administered in the largest vaccination centers and pharmacies.

To date, 2.12 million vaccines have been administered in Sussex.

During the six-month vaccination program, 79.8% of the population received their first dose, while 60.8% received the second.

But with the increasing number of cases in Brighton, walk-in sessions will be held this weekend at Brighton Racecourse and in towns, including St Peter’s Church and Hove Lawns, for anyone living in Brighton aged over 18 who has yet to receive her first dose.

Another session is held at Waitrose for anyone aged 40 and over who needs their first or second dose of AstraZeneca.

A spokesperson for the Sussex Covid-19 vaccination program said the walk-in sessions had been a “huge success” to date.

“We hope that these pop-up sessions will encourage more people to get vaccinated; you don’t need an appointment, you just have to show up – it’s really that easy to get that vital protection, ”they said.

“Our teams have been working incredibly hard to roll out the COVID-19 vaccine to our communities as quickly as possible, but we know there are still people who want a vaccination and have not yet come forward or now need to receive a second. dose which is vital to ensure maximum protection.
