Boris Johnson led the England squad’s applause as fans react to England’s resounding 4-0 quarter-final victory over Ukraine.
The Prime Minister was quick to react victory describing the team’s performance as “exceptional”.
In his tweet, he added: “We’re all behind you for the semi-finals, take it home.”
Labor counterpart Sir Keir Starmer also tweeted: “Amazing result. Huge credit to Gareth Southgate and the team. It’s coming home!”
He accompanied the post with a photo of himself wearing an English top next to a pint.
Meanwhile, Ross Kemp, who rose to prominence at the last World Cup for his enthusiastic video messages, came back in shape shouting “Come on, England!” looking at camera while wearing full scuba gear.
British astronaut Tim Peake also praised the team, saying: “England’s convincing victory tonight – congratulations on a brilliant performance across the board. Live the semi-finals!”
Oasis legend Liam Gallagher simply tweeted “it’s coming home” while comedian Jack Whitehall wrote: “If we were whispering it (sic) after the game against Germany, it’s now a whisper away… “it’s coming home” “
Sky Sports expert Chris Kamara wrote “Brilliant superb fantastic” and “above all amazing” while TV presenters Ant and Dec said: “Oh boy. Hard not to get carried away innit !? D # Euros2020 # ItsComingHome “
