COVID-19: Londoners who receive first vaccine can win tickets to Euro 2020 final, Mayor Sadiq Khan says | UK News

Londoners are offered the chance to win tickets to the Euro 2020 final if they register for their first COVID jab.

City mayor Sadiq Khan is putting together a pair of tickets for Sunday’s Wembley final, as well as 50 pairs for the Trafalgar Square fan zone.

England are the big favorites to reserve their place in the game when they face Denmark in the semi-final on Wednesday.

Tickets for the match are currently extremely difficult to find, with predictable demand “through the roof”.

To be eligible, people must prove that they went to a walk-in vaccination center for their first dose or that they have made an appointment.

Those who post on social media about having or reserving a vaccine will be listed twice, a statement from the mayor’s office said.

The online raffle begins Wednesday, with full details on the mayor’s social media.

He’s following similar programs to boost immunization in cities like Toronto and New York.

“It is really important that we continue to increase the number of young people who come forward for vaccinations,” said Mr Khan.

He stressed that walk-in vaccination centers were available “regardless of immigration status and general practitioner registration”.

Mr Khan said the draw was a “golden opportunity” to be in the stadium on what could be “an amazing day for our nation” and the winner could bring a guest.
